Marshall Men’s Golf Sees Day Two Success At Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge

Minutoli leads three Herd golfers under par on Tuesday at True Blue
PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Marshall Men's Golf saw three players finish under par during second round action on Tuesday in the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge.
Freshman Jack Minutoli had a 2-under 70 while sophomore Cael Ropietski and freshman Wes Lorish each ended at 1-under 71 on Tuesday.
Minutoli's resurgence started quickly as he got going early in his round to set the stage for a strong day. After starting on the 10th hole, Minutoli birdied three straight from Holes 13 to 15 to find rhythm. He finished with a team-best five birdies on the day.
Lorish also caught a hot stretch to the end of his round, birdieing three of the final five holes to get into the red at 1-under. He posted consecutive birdies at Nos. 5 and 6 before closing with a birdie on the par-5 9th hole.
Ropietski continued his consistent approach to the course, going 2-under over his final 11 holes to end the day at 1-under 71, as well.
That score gets him back to Even-par for the tournament, which has him tied for 21st in the overall standings.
Clayton Thomas continues to lead the tournament field in pars for the week. He had another 14 on Tuesday and was 1-over for the day.
