Marshall Track & Field Has Breakout First Day at Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marshall Track & Field had one of its strongest days this season on the first day of its final meet before the Sun Belt Conference Championships. The Herd had 10 scorers on day one of the Jim Green Invitational in Kentucky.
Cole Miller finished as the top collegiate finisher in Men's Long Jump. His 7.44 meter jump was a personal record and second-best in program history. Miller topped several power conference opponents which was a theme throughout Thursday.
Myah Boze, Karlee Buterbaugh, Lara Check, Markayla Moore were among the Herd's other Top-5 finishers in the crowded field at Kentucky

Track Events
Boze set the tempo on the track with her 1:01.12 in the 400m Hurdles, finishing 5th. Other Top-5 finishes included Justin Lipscomb's 3:52.98 was a personal best.
Field Events
In the Women's Hammer, Markayla Moore finished 5th in the Invite Finals, throwing 57.36m. Halie Wynter's 50.59m throw finished 6th in the Open. Lara Check's 5.93m jump was good for 5th in Long Jump. Check is currently in position to return to Lexington for the NCAA East First Rounds. Buterbaugh's throw in Women's Javelin Throw led the Herd with Elli Barry finishing 9th. On the men's side, Gradian Graham was 6th with a PB 57.02. In addition to Miller's standout Long Jump, Kylan Overstreet finished 8th (6.95m) and Grant Swider 10th (6.74m). Brooks Theis notched a 10th place finish in Javelin.
