Women’s Soccer Drops Contest at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Marshall Women's Soccer (1-1) suffered its first defeat of 2026, falling 4-0 to High Point (1-2) Thursday afternoon.
A tough start which saw the Herd fall behind by three goals inside of 25 minutes became insurmountable for MU, which outshot the hosts, 18-16. Marshall's eight shots on target were also one more than the Panthers created, and Coach Rafa Simoes's side created seven corners to High Point's four.
The Herd created real chances to get back into the contest in the second half, getting unlucky at times with Larissa Ozorio and Bailey Fisher's shots each ending up off the crossbar.
HPU's Sabba Haghgoo completed the hat trick in the 56th minute to complete the scoring. Junior goalkeeper Emma Durand finished with four saves in net.
Marshall will have a quick opportunity to respond, coming home to face Wright State on Sunday evening, August 23 at 6 p.m. Tickets can be found HERE.
