Was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Rod Hoover at Guyan Valley High...as a senior, batted .413 with 17 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 37 RBI...also scored 36 runs and swiped 20 stolen bases...was selected to play in both the North-South and West Virginia-Ohio All-Star games as a senior...was a first team All-West Virginia selection as a sophomore, junior and senior...garnered first team All-County honors all four seasons...in four seasons, finished with a .397 batting average, 38 doubles, 12 triples, 10 home runs and 110 RBI, while also compiling 62 stolen bases...lettered four years in basketball, earning first team All-County honors four times.
