2022 (SENIOR): Started and played in all 55 games…led the team in batting average (.364), hits (84), runs scored (44), RBI (53) and tied for the team lead in home runs (13)…his 84 hits were second most in a season in program history and led Conference USA…reached base in every game except for one and had a 61-game on-base streak between the 2021 and 2022 seasons…recorded hits in 49 of the team’s 55 contests, including 26 multi-hit games…registered a pair of four-hit contests against Old Dominion on May 13 and 15…had a pair of homers against Merrimack in game two of a doubleheader on March 11.
2021 (JUNIOR): Started and played in 44 games…led the Herd with a .331 batting average, 47 hits, 16 doubles and 79 total bases…had 13 multi-hit games, including three three-hit games against Morehead State (Mar. 7), Old Dominion (Apr. 4) and at Louisiana Tech (Apr. 24)…had a season-high four RBI-contest at Old Dominion on April 3 in the first game of a doubleheader.
2020 (SOPHOMORE): One of four players to start in all 16 games in the shortened season … hit .274 with 17 hits in 62 at-bats, and led the team with 13 RBI … had four doubles, one triple, and one home run which came on March 8 vs. Akron … matched a career-high in at-bats with six against Canisius on March 1, a game in which he also matched a career-high three hits … had two, two-double games, the first coming in the season-opener Feb. 14 at No. 4 Florida, the latter coming March 1 vs. Canisius … had a team-high .414 batting average with runners on base and tied for the team-high in hits (7) with runners in scoring position … named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
2019 (FRESHMAN): Named to the 2019 Conference USA All-Freshman team … made 32 starts in 44 appearances playing multiple positions … hit .260 with 34 hits in 131 at-bats … scored 29 runs and drove in 16 RBI … had 11 extra-base hits, eight doubles, two homers and a triple … hit first collegiate homerun against Eastern Michigan (Mar. 10) … had a pair of three-hit games against Middle Tennessee (Mar. 29) and at Louisiana Tech (Apr. 19) …season-high four RBI at UAB (Apr. 27).
Prior to Marshall: Attended Myrtle Beach High School and played baseball all four seasons … During 2016, Edwards was named first-team all-region and was an all-state honorable mention … In 2017, he was a named first-team all-region and all-state … During his 2018 and senior season, he received the same honors as during his junior year in addition to being named Myrtle Beach High School MVP, Region VII AAAA Player of the Year.
