R-SENIOR SEASON (2019): Veteran leader on the offensive line … Conference USA all-conference first team selection after the season … Honored by Marshall coaches with the Jim Conard Award, which is given to the team’s top offensive lineman … One of five season-ending captains … Game captain for nine games in final collegiate season … Started all 13 games as a senior at center … Finished career with 50 career starts, the most by any active player … Became 10th player in school history with at least 50 career starts … Only senior on an offensive line that blocked for Conference USA MVP Brenden Knox … Marshall ranked No. 2 in Conference USA and No. 35 nationally in rushing offense … Participated in Marshall Pro Day in March, recording a vertical jump of 27 ½ inches, a broad jump of 8 feet and 2 inches and 19 repetitions on the pro bench (225-pound reps on the bench press).

R-JUNIOR SEASON (2018): Named to the Conference USA preseason all-conference team on the offensive line … Named to the Rimington Watch List for college football’s top center … Game captain against Miami (Ohio), Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss … Played and started all 13 games … Following the 2018 regular season, coaches gave him the Jim Conard Award for the team’s top offensive lineman … Enters senior season with 37 career starts, the most of any returnee.

R-SOPHOMORE SEASON (2017): Started all 13 games at center … Named a game captain for the win at Cincinnati … Anchored an offensive line that generated 4,938 yards and an average of 5.50 yards per play … Offensive line ranked fourth nationally in sacks allowed with 11 in 13 games (0.85 per game) … Played a team-high 932 snaps … Allowed only one sack … Honored after the season by league coaches, who voted the center to the C-USA all-conference second team … The only freshman or sophomore on the C-USA first or second team.

R-FRESHMAN SEASON (2016): Named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, as voted by the league’s 13 head coaches … One of a league-high four Marshall players on the All-Freshman team, which included only five offensive lineman across the conference … Was the only center among five offensive linemen on the All-Freshman team … Started 11 consecutive games at center … Lauded by his position coach, Alex Mirabal, as “tough as heck” and willing to play “through pain and injuries” … Displays rare athleticism at center with his ability to snap the ball and pull on running plays.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2015): Redshirted … Can play guard or center … Made all road trips as 10th offensive lineman, but did not play … Scout Team member.

HERD FILE: Born Dec. 17, 1996 … Majoring in Health Science at MU … Rated a three-star prospect by Scout and 247Sports … Had offers from Coastal Carolina, Elon and Georgia State … Helped Heard County run for 3,771 yards and 43 touchdowns on 532 carries and throw for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns on 60-of-131 passing with his blocking … Had 28 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick on defense … Helped Heard County (7-6) advance to the third round of the Class AA state playoffs earned All-State first-team honors from The Associated Press and Atlanta Journal Constitution … Played basketball and was a standout doubles player in tennis.
