Named to Athlon’s preseason All-Conference USA football team as a second team selection.

R-JUNIOR SEASON (2016): Played in 11 games (all starts) … Finished third on the team in tackles with 76 … Tied for the team lead in interceptions with two … Recorded a team-high 12 pass breakups … Forced a team-best four fumbles … Intercepted two passes at Florida International – one of which had a return of 24 yards.

R-SOPHOMORE SEASON (2015): Emerged at field cornerback spot, sharing time with senior Keith Baxter during the season, with his playing time increasing as the year continued … Made first career start in St. Petersburg Bowl victory … Converted wide receiver played all 13 games, making 30 tackles (18 solos) with two for loss … Played 618 defensive snaps for season … Had three interceptions for 40 yards and 6 pass breakups … Biggest pass breakup came late in the Herd bowl victory, when he got his mitts on long third-and-10 attempt by UConn QB Bryant Shirreffs from the Herd 35, with Marshall leading 13-7. Herd Coach Doc Holliday called it the defensive play of the game … Had interceptions versus Southern Miss, FAU, FIU.

R-FRESHMAN SEASON (2014): Moved from wide receiver to the secondary in August camp … Played all 14 games on special teams and also saw some relief time at cornerback … Played 75 defensive snaps … Made 11 tackles (five solo) … Single-game tackles high was three, on two occasions (Akron, FAU).

FRESHMAN SEASON (2013): Redshirted.

HERD FILE: Born Dec. 3, 1993 … Originally was a Class of 2013 prospect at Lincoln High in Dallas; signed with Navarro College in Texas, but enrolled at Marshall instead … In high school, had offers from Baylor and TCU and contact with Colorado State, New Mexico, Oregon State and USC … Was not rated by Rivals as a senior … Had 36 catches for 386 yards and four touchdowns and 30 carries for 203 yards and two scores for Lincoln (10-2) in 2012 … Was a three-sport athlete at Lincoln (football, basketball and track and field).
