GP/GS: 38/0 … First season of action after missing 2021 due to injury … Came off the bench in 38 contests as a pinch runner … Did enter at second base in one game late against Purdue Fort Wayne (March 3) … Scored 15 runs … Made collegiate debut in the season-opener versus Saint Joseph’s (Feb. 11) at the Buzz Classic … Scored first career run in the third inning against Villanova (Feb. 12), second of two runs scoring on an error in the outfield … Sprinted home on a wild pitch versus South Carolina (Feb. 18) to give Herd first run of the game in the second inning at Battle at the Beach … Scored first run again for Herd at Coastal Carolina (Feb. 19) in the second inning … Had first career at bat and appearance in the field at home versus Purdue Fort Wayne (March 3), struck out in plate appearance and did not get the opportunity to make a play at second base … Trotted home off homers from Mya Stevenson in back-to-back games against Maryland Eastern Shore (March 5) and Fairfield (March 11) … Scored the go-ahead run in the fourth versus Fairfield (March 13) to put Herd up 5-4 on the way to win … Scored game-tying run in the fifth against Charlotte (April 1) at 4-4, MU went on to win … Scored the go-ahead run in the fifth versus Morehead State (April 20) that helped spark 8-run inning to take a 9-1 win … Scored go-ahead run in the top of the seventh of game three at North Texas (May 8) put Herd up 6-5 on the way to the win.

High School: Attended North Gate High School … Four-year Scholar Athlete and Honorable Mention … Bat .321 with 54 hits, 53 runs and 24 RBI … With travel ball team was a member of squad that won PGF Qualifiers in 2017 and 2019 … Names qualifying the first time in 2017 as her favorite moment in athletics, “It was a major milestone in my softball career and I had never experienced anything like it before.” … Former travel ball teammates have gone on to play collegiately at Oregon State, CSU Northridge, Sacramento State, Iowa, Hawaii Hilo, Holy Names University and Azusa Pacific University.
Personal: Born July 26, 2002 … Daughter of James Lee and Teri Schmitz … Has a twin sister, Olivia, who will play softball for Holy Names University in Oakland, Calif. … Chose Marshall because, “I wanted to explore options away from home. When I came here for the first time, I loved the community so much, everyone was so kind to me and I felt very welcomed. I also fell in love with the campus and had great experiences with the coaches.” … Plans to major in health sciences.
