2021-22 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll: GPA 3.00 or better
GP/GS: 36/13 … Started sporadically throughout the season in left field and also as a pinch runner … Finished year with 12 hits, 11 runs scored, eight RBI, two doubles, one triple, one home run and bat .235 … Started season-opener versus Saint Joseph’s (Feb. 11) was 1-of-2 at the plate with a run and lone stolen base of the year … Stepped in for an injury against South Carolina (Feb. 19) and responded by going 2-for-2 at the plate, with a hit-by-pitch, and hitting a 3-run home run that put Marshall on the scoreboard in the third inning … Had a double and one RBI in comeback win at Coastal Carolina (Feb. 19) … Hit a bases-clearing triple in the first inning against Maryland Eastern Shore (March 5) to tie career-high in RBI (three) and first career triple … Had one hit, scored a run and made a great catch at the wall in left at Ohio (March 16) … Recorded second double of the season in game one of series at UAB (March 19) … Had a key two-out, RBI single in the bottom of the eighth against Charlotte (April 2) that tied the game at 10-10 and helped lead to walk-off win two batters later … Scored the first run in the bottom of the fifth against FIU (April 16) that led to a 6-run inning for an 8-0 win and sweep the series on Emileigh Cooper Day … Was 1-of-2 with a walk and scored two runs in the final home game of the season versus UTEP (May 1) … Tallied a base hit and one putout in game one at North Texas (May 6) … Recorded the final two putouts in left to end the game and preserve the win for Herd in game three at North Texas (May 8) to avoid sweep … In two years with Marshall appeared in 56 games with 18 starts, 15 hits, 17 runs, two doubles, two home runs, one triple, 12 RBI, 10 walks, three hit-by-pitches, slugged .379 and a .350 on base percentage.

2021 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll: GPA 3.00 or better
GP/GS: 20/5 … Began to earn more time on the field as year progressed in abbreviated freshman campaign due to COVID-19 … Used primarily as a pinch runner, did play in the outfield in nine contests including her five starts … Finished season batting .200 (3-of-15), scored six runs, one home run, four RBI and six walks … Had three games with two walks each … Made collegiate debut as a pinch runner in both games of Akron doubleheader (March 3) in season-opener … Stole first career base against Valparaiso (March 7) … Scored first career run in game two at Chattanooga (March 20) in the top of the seventh … Earned first career start in right field in game two of Bellarmine series (March 27), drew two walks and scored one run … Received second start in game three of Bellarmine series (March 28), drew two more walks and smacked first career home run with a solo shot to left in the third inning … Scored once as a pinch runner in game one at Middle Tennessee (April 9) … Had a pinch hit, sacrifice fly in the sixth inning of game two at Middle Tennessee (April 9) to tie the game at 7-7 … Had third career start in game three at Middle Tennessee (April 10) … Came in to pinch hit and drove in a run with a single to right at FIU (April 24) … Drew two walks, had one hit and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh of win in game two of series at Charlotte (May 8) … Started game three of Charlotte series as well (May 8).

High School: Attended Marcus High School … Three-time All-District honors and three times named to the Dallas/Fort Worth All-Metroplex Team … 2018 Team Defensive Player of the Year … Ranked as the No. 73 position player in Extra Innings … Totaled 78 runs scored, 82 hits, 24 doubles, 15 home runs, 39 walks and bat .369 … Played for highly successful travel team … First place at 2018 TCS Nationals in Atlanta, fifth place 2019 Colorado Fireworks Power Pool, fifth place 2019 TCS National in Atlanta, second place at USA JO Cup in Spartanburg, S.C., third place at 2020 Colorado Fireworks in Houston, and 2020 Texas Fastpitch League Alamo Series Champions … Along with competing three times in the All-Metro-plex All-Star game in Plano, Texas, also played in the Fireworks All-Star game in 2018 and 2019 … Several former teammates playing collegiately … Involved off the field in Circle of Friends, Black History Club, Environmental Club and FCA.
 
Personal: Mikaila "Kay Kay" Kenney Born Feb. 25, 2002 … Daughter of Amy and Chris Kenney … Has one younger sibling, Avery … Father played football at Texas Tech in 1992 … Chose Marshall because, “of the very supporting and close-knit community and because as soon as I stepped onto the campus it felt like home.” … Plans to major in communication disorders.
