Gehler was hired as the director of volleyball operations in July 2023, before being promoted to assistant coach in the Spring of 2024.
In Gehler's first season as an assistant coach, she helped lead Marshall to a 15-14 record during the 2024 season.
Gehler took on extended duties following the 2023 season after the departures of former assistants Bijonae Jones and Charlie French. Gehler flourished in the elevated role and was an integral part of the team's development and operations during the Spring of 2024.
The Waterloo, Wisc., native joined Marshall's staff last season after playing her final year with the Thundering Herd, leading the team with 409 digs while adding 93 assists in the 2022 season. She also played two seasons each at Wyoming and Memphis.
