Casey Places Fourth At Penn Relays

Casey Batey, a senior from Milton, W.Va., leads the Mid-American Conference in the 3,000 meter steplechase. On Thursday, Batey showed Pennsylvania that he can run with anyone.
Batey ran a 8:46.44 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to place fourth at the Penn Relays. His time best's the MAC best, which he already owns. Previously, the best time was 9:02.29.
No one else from the MAC made the championships in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Casey ran being winner Chris Dugan of North Carolina State, second place Erik Salo of South Florida and third place finisher Ian Connor Ohio State. Batey finished in front of Ian Collins of West Virginia.
Batey will look to stay on top of the MAC as the MAC Outdoor championships draw closer. Miami University will host the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Chamnpionships May 17-19.
