Adam Frederick Named MAC East Player of the Week
5/10/2004
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Marshall third baseman Adam Frederick (Franklin, PA) was announced as the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week for the week ending May 9.
Frederick batted .583 (7-12) in Marshall's three games at Akron. In Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Zips, Frederick went 5-10, scoring three runs and batting in five more runs.
He raised his season batting average from .337 to a team-leading .354 with this weekend's performance. Along with leading the team in batting average, he also leads the Herd in hits (64), runs scored (38) and RBI's (39).
This marks the second time this season that a Marshall player has received the honors. Senior Corie O'Bryan (Frederick, MD) was named Co-Player of the Week on April 6.
Frederick will look to things going when the Herd hosts Eastern Kentucky at University Heights on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
