Track Travels to MAC Championships

Zedmalia Wolfe leads Marshall into the MAC Outdoor Championships.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University track team will travel to Oxford, Ohio, on the campus of Miami (Ohio) University to compete in the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships. The meet will begin on Thurs., May 13, and conclude on Sat., May 15.

Leading the Herd into the championships is junior Zedmalia Wolfe (Toronto, Canada). During the regular season Wolfe broke an 11-year-old school record in the 200-meter dash setting the new mark at 24.74.

In the distance events the Herd will have a strong presence with seniors Varinka Barbini (Flanders, N.J.) and Shelby Pride (Bethel, Ohio).

The Herd should be well represented by senior Amanda Halsey (Dunkirk, Ohio) and freshmen Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) and Brittani Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio). Halsey is a contender in the javelin while Sutton and Keeney will compete in the jumps and throws, respectively.

The first day of competition begins at 10:30 a.m.
