Blankenship Leads Herd at Kentucky Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Freshman Rachel Blankenship finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 41'8.5" (12.71m) to lead the Herd at the Kentucky Invitational.

Freshman Teniqua Sutton placed 13th in the long jump (17'1.5", 5.22m) with senior Kristin Herron finishing just below in the 18th place (16'10", 5.13m). In the triple jump freshman Quinnyana Brown finished 14th with a distance of 35'4.5" (10.78m).

In the running events junior Xavier Richards placed 13th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.23. Senior Zedmalia Wolfe had a 19th place finish in the 200-meter dash (25.54).

The indoor track team will return to action on Jan. 29 when they travel to Columbus to compete in the Ohio State Invitational.
