Eastman Finishes Strong For Herd

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Marshall University track team competed in the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend in Blacksburg, Va. Junior Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) had the top finish for the Thundering Herd when she placed third in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:01.87.

Senior Kristin Herron (Frankfort, Ky.) added a ninth place finish in the 500-meter run (1:18.75).

In the field events freshman Quinnyana Brown (Buffalo, N.Y.) had a 15th place finish in the triple jump (11.27m). Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) finished just behind Brown in 16th with a distance of 11.21 meters.

Marshall will return to the track on Feb. 19 when the team travels to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Scarlet & Grey Meet.
