Track Travels to MAC Indoor Championships

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Marshall University track team is preparing for the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track Championships which begin on Friday at 11 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., on the campus of Central Michigan University.
Leading the Herd is junior Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) who has had strong finishes all season in the distance events. In Marshall's last outing at the Scarlet and Gray Invitational, Eastman finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.49. Junior Karmen Collins (Slicklerville, N.J.) is also expected to be a strong contender in the hurdles after placing third in the 60-meter distance with a time of 9.05.
In field events, sophomore Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) should have an impressive showing in the triple jump after setting a new school record this season with a jump of 39-01.00 (11.91m) during the Akron Open.
The MAC Championships will conclude on Saturday.
