DURHAM, N.C. - For the third week in a row, the Marshall University women's track team will travel to the Carolinas to compete in the Duke Invitational April 4-5.

During the outdoor season, the Thundering Herd has enjoyed terrific performances coming from its upperclassmen and from the freshman class as well.

Senior Rachel Blankenship hit a NCAA qualifying mark in the shot put event last weekend at the Winthrop Invitational. In addition to her qualifying mark, Blankenship's mark of 47 feet and one half inches also set a school record.

Freshmen Alexis Duvaul and Darby Mullen both received top ten finishes in track event at Winthrop as well. Duvaul finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.58) while Mullen earned second in the 5000-meter run (18:24.28).

Events will get underway Friday at noon and conclude Saturday around 6:00 pm. Results can be found on www.flashresults.com/duke.
