Baseball To Host Individual Skills Lessons

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University's Director of Baseball Operations, Chad Conner, will hold individual professional hitting, pitching, catching and fielding lessons for those interested from ages 8-25 years old.
Lessons will take place in the Cam Henderson Center auxiliary gym and are open to both baseball and softball players. Cost is $35 for a half hour and $65 for an hour.

Conner (a Bristow, Okla. native) graduated from Bristow High School in 1999 where he was a two-time all-state player. He led the state in home runs during his senior year with 18.
After high school, he played for the Mid-West Travelers (an All-American high school traveling team) and also played in the World Games in Hawaii. From 2000-2001, he played at Fresno City Junior College and was part of the national champion runner-up. In 2001, Conner was a Pre-Season All-American and was also named Regional Catcher of the Year.
From 2002-2003 he played ball at Division I Texas Tech University. In February 2003, he was a free-agent signee with the San Francisco Giants. During this time, he played in the Giants' Instructional League in Scottsdale, Ariz., and the Short Season league in Salem, Ore.. In 2006, he was affiliated with the Yawkee Baseball, and Independent Baseball League in New England. In 2007, Conner won the Silver Slugger Award for Best Offensive Catcher and the Gold Glove Award for Best Defensive Catcher.
This past summer Conner was the hitters and catchers coach for the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.
