Throwers Finish High at UCF Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. - Into the second week of the 2009 outdoor season, the throwers from Marshall University picked up three second place finishes this past weekend at the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
Freshman Raivyn Chancellor (Anderson, S.C.), who picked up two sixth place finishes last weekend, came out picking up second place in the discus event with a heave of 45.94m. Chancellor also picked up ninth place in the shot put with a mark of 12.35m.
Her teammates senior Kwema Phillander (Siparia, Trinidad) and junior Molly Grove (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) also picked up second place in throwing events. Phillander finished second in the javelin (36.14m) and Grove in the hammer throw (46.24m).
In the running events, freshman Kylie Lemons (Prichard, W.Va.) took 14th in the 1500-meters (5:01.93) and the 4x400 relay team finished 10th with a time of 4:10.07.
