Marshall Baseball Hosts Scout Day on Wednesday, October 6th

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University baseball team will host Scout Day for MLB scouts to evaluate the draft eligible talent on the 2010-11 Thundering Herd club on Wednesday, October 6th at the Kennedy Center Field. The showcase will begin at 2 p.m.

The MU players will be timed in the 60-yard dash, partake in batting practice, infield/outfield drills followed by a scrimmage. The seven-inning game will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Last season, head coach Jeff Waggoner produced a pair of draft picks in Ryan Kiel (Seattle Mariners) and Kevin Shackelford (Milwaukee Brewers), while Tyler Gatrell was signed as a free agent (Kansas City Royals).

Waggoner has produced a total of 15 players who have been drafted or signed by professional organizations since being named head coach in 2007.
