Jackson, Jules Grab Wins at Akron Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - The Marshall University women's track and field team had two first-place individual finishers at the Akron Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Stile Field House in Akron, Ohio.
Andrea Jackson won the triple jump for the second meet in a row as her leap of 12.34m (40-06.00 feet) bested Danielle Thrope's (Appalachian State) jump of 12.24m. Jackson captured the triple jump crown at the Marietta Invitational last weekend.
Vanessa Jules won the high jump with a clearing jump of 1.68m (5-06.00 feet). This is her first individual win of the season.
Rolanda Bruce bettered her time of a week ago in the 400-meter dash on her way to a fourth place finish with a time of 58.28.
The Herd resumes action next weekend in Blacksburg, Va., for the Hokie Invitational, hosted by Virginia Tech University.
