Marshall Track and Field Completes Day One at Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - LaTricia Jones led the way in the women's weight throw as the Herd took places two through four on the first day of the Hurricane Invitational Friday on the campus of the University of Miami.

Jones picked up right where she left off from a strong indoor season as her toss of 47.22m was good for a second place finish. Molly Grove placed third with a toss of 44.44m, while Elizabeth Barnhart finished fourth with a distance of 44.06m.

In the 5000 meter run, Marshall freshman Leslie Thomas ran to a fifth place finish with a time of 18:49.

The Herd continues the Hurricane Invitational with the bulk of the events coming tomorrow afternoon.
