HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - Marshall will ride into Houston hot off a three-win streak, but will be tested against the Cougars who own a 9-0 home record. Marshall is scheduled to play Houston both Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Marshall (7-16, 6-7 C-USA) has won their past three matches, two of which were five-set thrillers. This past weekend the Thundering Herd knocked off Tulane (3-2) and Southern Miss (3-1). The weekend before, Marshall took down SMU in five-sets as well, 3-2.
For her stand-out weekend performance against Tulane and Southern Miss, Abby Tomas received Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week honors. She helped lead Marshall to their first 2-0 weekend of the season and set a personal career-record against Tulane with 22 kills during the match.
Houston (16-6, 9-3 C-USA) most recently lost to UCF in five sets, which ended a six-match win streak for the Courgars. Houston currently sits second in C-USA and 43rd in the NCAA RPI rankings. Their team is led by Lacy Charuk, who ranks 9th nationally with a .404 hitting percentage and 21st with 1.31 blocks per set.
Both matches will be available through GameTracker, via HerdZone.com, as well as on LiveStream video at Houston's website, UHCougars.com.
