Track & Field Ventures to Ohio Women's Team Challenge

ATHENS, Ohio - The Marshall University women's track & field team is set for its third outdoor meet of the season as the Thundering Herd travels to take part in the Ohio Women's Team Challenge on the campus of Ohio University.
For the first time this season, Elaine Derricott will enter in the javelin. She, along with school record holder Amanda Kennedy, will represent the Herd in that event. Kennedy has the highest preliminary mark entering Saturday.
Amanda Hottenstein will test her strength in the shot put as she is seeded second behind Ashley Harris of Bowling Green.
On the track, Derricott, Alexis DeVaul, Rachel Coaxum and Lauren DeHays will go in the 100 meter hurdles. In distance events, Leslie Thomas, Kelley Mortakis, Paige Govey and Sammantha Stroker will go in the 1,500 meter run, while Kathleen Clark, Alecia Hairston, Heather Saffel and Allison Cox run in the 800 meters.
Others schools entered in the meet include: Bowling Green, Ohio University, Toledo and Tiffin.
