HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Marshall baseball team will travel to Athens, Ohio for a matchup with the Ohio Bobcats Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Wren Stadium.

The Thundering Herd is 43-111-1 all-time against the Bobcats and 3-5 under head coach Jeff Waggoner.

Marshall (8-11) is coming off a Sunday victory over St. Bonaventure where it avoided its first non-conference sweep since 2010. Prior to that series, the Herd built a three-game winning streak to move to two games below five hundred, the closest it had been since the beginning of March.

Ohio (9-9) currently boasts a three-game winning streak of its own after taking the final three games of a four-game set against IPFW. In addition to the three straight wins, the Bobcats have won eight of their last 11 after beginning the season 1-6.

Isaac Ballou and Nathan Gomez are Marshall's current hitting leaders and also rank among the leaders in Conference-USA statistics. Ballou and Gomez have each collected 22 hits in 72 at-bats (.306).

Additionally, Balllou's nine stolen bases have him tied for second and only one off the leader in C-USA.

Gomez' 21 runs batted in place him in a three-way tie for third in C-USA run production. The current conference leader, D.J. Hicks of UCF, has 31 RBIs this season.

Ohio's latest series culminated with a shutout win over IPFW on Sunday. The Bobcats bats caught fire as the team scored 13 runs on 14 hits, scoring in all but one inning.
