Dyer, Fofanah Pace Thundering Herd Sunday at C-USA Championships

EL PASO, Tx. -- Marshall's Loren Dyer and Isatu Fofanah each posted third-place finishes to lead the Marshall outdoor track and field team Sunday, on the final day of competition at the Conference USA Championships.
Dyer finished third in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.37 and Fofanah did the same in the 100 meter dash in 11.49 seconds. She also placed seventh in the 200 meter dash (24.14 seconds), while Dyer came in 10th in the triple jump (12.14 meters).
Barkley Castro posted a sixth-place finish (2:21.02) in the 800 meter run, followed by Marshall's performances in the two relays. The Herd's quartet of Breanna Hargrove, Naja Greer, Loren Dyer and Shanice Johnson took seventh in the 4x400 meter relay (3:43.58), while Kametra Byrd, Johnson, Asia Bange and Fofanah finished eighth in the 4x100 meter relay in 45.49 seconds.
Bethany Drury (12.20 meters) and Catika Slay (1.56 meters) notched 16th-place finishes in the shot put and high jump, respectively, and Alexandria Phares rounded out the team with a 19th-place showing in the 5000 meter run.
The team finished 11th with a total of 26 points in the final overall standings.
