Herd Track and Field Completes Prestigious Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - The Marshall track and field team completed the tradition-rich Penn Relays Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
Marshall earned a Friday win from its 4x100-meter relay runners in the college division. The team of Kametra Byrd, Shanice Johnson, Asia Bange and Hope Jumiste finished with a time of 46.25 seconds, just narrowly edging out South Carolina, LIU-Brooklyn and Penn State.
Junior Antonique Butler earned sixth place in the triple jump championship (12.42m).
Freshman Heidi Heiniger continued her successful form with a ninth-place finish in the javelin throw (41.40m).
In the college shot put division, freshman Elena Marchand (13.18m) finished 14th and fellow freshman Hasana Clark finished 33rd (11.58m).
Junior Lauren George placed tied for 36th in the college division long jump (5.08m).
