Antonique Butler Competes at NCAA East Regional

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.--Junior Antonique Butler (Nassau, Bahamas) competed in the East Regional at the NCAA National Track and Field Championships Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida.
Butler finished 38th out of 48 in the triple jump with a best jump of 12.40-meters in a field that featured athletes from power conferences such as the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC.
The best mark was set by sophomore Keturah Orji of Georgia, whose jump of 14.29m broke a collegiate best set in 1997 by Suzette Lee (14.25m).
"Antonique had a great year and has come a long way," head coach Jeff Small said. "I look forward to big jumps from her next year."
