Herd Baseball Players with Major League Organizations

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Corey Bird's three RBI night and promotions for Kevin Shackelford and Burris Warner highlighted this past week's action for nine former Marshall baseball players with Major League organizations.
Details for each are found below:
Dan Straily -- Starting Pitcher -- Cincinnati Reds
Straily made one start over the past week against the Chicago Cubs on Monday. Straily allowed seven runs through 3.2 innings. Straily is scheduled to start on Saturday against the Washington Nationals.
Straily's season stats: 17 G, 14 GS, 4-5, 4.38 ERA, 88.1 IP, 71 H, 43 R, 43 ER, 40 BB, 74 K
Aaron Blair -- Starting Pitcher - Gwinnett Braves (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
After throwing 4.1 innings in a loss against the New York Mets last Friday, Blair was sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett Braves. Blair started on Wednesday for Gwinnett and suffered his first loss of the season in Triple-A. Blair went six innings with five strikeouts and allowed four runs.

Kevin Shackelford -- Relief Pitcher -- Louisville Bats (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds)
Shackelford earned his first career promotion to Triple-A on Tuesday as he moved up to the Louisville Bats from Pensacola. He made one relief appearance with Louisville on Thursday and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Prior to his promotion, Shackelford has been dominant this season in Double-A with a 0.75 ERA in nine appearances.

Isaac Ballou -- Outfielder -- Harrisburg Senators (Eastern League; Double-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals)
Over the last week, Ballou has recorded seven hits through six games, including a three-hit game against Reading. Ballou recorded his second home run of the season on Monday against Bowie. In Double-A this season, Ballou has a .303 on base percentage and a .356 slugging percentage.

Burris Warner -- Pitcher -- Lakeland Flying Tigers (Florida State League; Class A Advance Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers)
Warner made an impact for the GCL Tigers West in the Gulf Coast League. In his professional debut, Warner earned the win against the GCL Blue Jays by tossing one scoreless inning with a strikeout. The right-handed pitcher was promoted to the Class A Advance Lakeland Flying Tigers on Wednesday.

Corey Bird -- Outfielder -- Batavia Muckdogs (New York-Penn League; Class A Short Season Affiliate of the Miami Marlins)
Since being assigned to the Batavia Muckdogs, Corey Bird has started six of seven games. In his first career game, Bird went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Bird's best outing came on Monday against Mahoning Valley where he was 3-for-6 with three RBIs. Bird has seven hits with .308 slugging percentage.

JD Hammer -- Pitcher -- Grand Junction Rockies (Pioneer League; Rookie Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies)
Hammer has made three relief appearances with the Grand Junction Rockies, all against the Idaho Falls Chukars. In his pro debut, Hammer threw two scoreless innings with a strikeout and allowed one hit. He had a season-best four strikeouts on Monday through 1.1 innings. The 6-3 right hander suffered his first setback on Thursday.

Parker Danciu -- Pitcher -- GCL Braves (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
Danciu made his professional debut on Wednesday against the GCL Yankees West. Danciu earned the win as he tossed three scoreless innings in relief with one strikeout. The 6-4 left hander allowed only two hits.
Danciu's season stats: 1 G, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Aaron Bossi -- Catcher -- GCL Yankees East (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the New York Yankees)
Bossi has yet to make an appearance for the GCL Yankees East.
