Herd Baseball Players with Major League Organizations

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Wins for Kevin Shackelford and Burris Warner with their new teams, and Corey Bird's three RBI night highlighted last week's action as nine former Marshall baseball players continued their professional careers with Major League organizations.
Details for each are found below:
Dan Straily -- Starting Pitcher -- Cincinnati Reds
Straily made his last start before the Major League All-Star break on July 8 at the Miami Marlins. Straily pitched six innings and allowed three runs on six hits. The right hander had two strikeouts in the 3-1 loss.
Straily's season stats: 19 G, 16 GS, 4-6, 4.53 ERA, 101.1 IP, 79 H, 49 R, 49 ER, 45 BB, 80 K
Aaron Blair -- Starting Pitcher - Gwinnett Braves (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
Blair's last appearance came on Saturday in Charlotte. Against the Knights, Blair tossed five innings with five strikeouts. He allowed three runs on six hits in the no decision.
Blair's season stats with Atlanta: 11 G, 11 GS, 0-5, 7.99 ERA, 50.2 IP, 60 H, 47 R, 45 ER, 29 BB, 29 K
Blair's season stats with Triple-A Gwinnett: 7 G, 7 GS, 3-2, 4.26 ERA, 38 IP, 37 H, 18 R, 18 ER, 17 BB, 42 K
Kevin Shackelford -- Relief Pitcher -- Louisville Bats (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds)
Shackelford picked up his first win for Louisville on July 8. Shackelford pitched two scoreless innings against Columbus in relief. The righty continued his strong season on Sunday and Thursday with scoreless outings against Toledo and Indianapolis, respectively. Shackelford has a 0.81 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched this season.

Shackelford's season stats with Double-A Pensacola: 10 G, 1-0, 1.38 ERA, 13.0 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 11 K
Isaac Ballou -- Outfielder -- Harrisburg Senators (Eastern League; Double-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals)
Ballou appeared in all four of Harrisburg's games this past shortened week due to the All-Star game. Ballou's best outing came on Sunday against the Akron RubberDucks, as he went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. In the three-game series with Akron, Ballou had four hits and two runs scored.

Ballou's season stats with Harrisburg: 63 G, .254 AVG, 228 AB, 58 H, 25 R, 32 RBI, 17 BB
Burris Warner -- Pitcher -- Lakeland Flying Tigers (Florida State League; Class A Advance Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers)
Warner earned his first win for Lakeland on Sunday. Warner made a relief appearance and pitched two scoreless innings against the Palm Beach Cardinals. He had one strikeout and lowered his ERA from 6.75 to 3.86.
Warner's season stats with GCL Tigers West: 1 G, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Warner's season stats with Class A Advance Lakeland: 3 G, 1-0, 3.86 ERA, 4.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2, ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Corey Bird -- Outfielder -- Batavia Muckdogs (New York-Penn League; Class A Short Season Affiliate of the Miami Marlins)
Bird tied a season high in RBIs Monday against the Williamsport Crosscutters. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Bird has scored in five straight games for Batavia, including two runs on Wednesday. Bird had three stolen bases on Wednesday.
Bird's season stats: 18 G, .216 AVG, 74 AB, 16 H, 13 R, 8 RBI, 5 BB
JD Hammer -- Pitcher -- Grand Junction Rockies (Pioneer League; Rookie Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies)
Hammer appeared in two games and gradually lowered his ERA in both outings. Hammer entered the week with a 6.00 ERA, but lowered it to 5.63 on Saturday with two innings pitched and allowing only one run. On Thursday, He lowered his ERA to 4.35 as he pitched 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

Parker Danciu -- Pitcher -- GCL Braves (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
Danciu earned his second save of the season on Wednesday at the GCL Tigers. Danciu only surrendered one hit in three innings. He had three strikeouts.
Danciu's season stats: 4 G, 1-0, 3.27 ERA, 11.0 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, 2 SV
Aaron Bossi -- Catcher -- GCL Yankees East (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the New York Yankees)
Bossi made two starts this past week against the Tigers on Saturday and Braves on Monday. Bossi went 1-for-3 with a single against the Tigers.
