Herd Baseball Players with Major League Organizations

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Dan Straily's seven shutout innings against the Brewers, Burris Warner's second win for the Lakeland Flying Tigers and Aaron Bossi's three-hit game highlighted last week's action as nine former Marshall baseball players continued their professional careers with Major League organizations.
Details for each are found below:
Dan Straily -- Starting Pitcher -- Cincinnati Reds
Straily was impressive for the Reds Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Straily pitched seven shutout innings and only allowed three hits. He picked up a no decision, but the Reds won on a walk-off passed ball in the ninth inning. Straily is scheduled to pitch tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Straily's season stats: 20 G, 17 GS, 4-6, 4.07 ERA, 108.1 IP, 82 H, 49 R, 49 ER, 46 BB, 84 K
Aaron Blair -- Starting Pitcher - Gwinnett Braves (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
Blair's last two starts came against Scranton Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and Buffalo on Thursday. Blair faced a setback on Saturday, but bounced back on Thursday against the Bisons. Blair picked up a no decision, but pitched seven innings with three strikeouts. Blair's next start will come against Indianapolis next week in a three-game series.

Blair's season stats with Triple-A Gwinnett: 9 G, 9 GS, 3-3, 4.53 ERA, 51.2 IP, 55 H, 26 R, 26 ER, 23 BB, 51 K
Kevin Shackelford -- Relief Pitcher -- Louisville Bats (International League; Triple-A Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds)
Shackelford continued to dominate out of the bullpen for the Bats. In three appearances, Shackelford combined for 3.2 innings of scoreless baseball and three strikeouts. He earned his first save in Triple-A on Monday at the Columbus Clippers. He picked up his second save just two days later against the Clippers. Shackelford holds a 0.69 ERA in 2016 through 26.0 innings pitched.

Shackelford's season stats with Double-A Pensacola: 10 G, 1-0, 1.38 ERA, 13.0 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 11 K
Isaac Ballou -- Outfielder -- Harrisburg Senators (Eastern League; Double-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals)
Ballou made seven starts this past week for the Senators. The Smithfield, Va., native had four hits, including two hits at the Erie SeaWolves on Monday. On Tuesday, Ballou went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.

Ballou's season stats with Harrisburg: 70 G, .245 AVG, 253 AB, 62 H, 28 R, 33 RBI, 21 BB
Burris Warner -- Pitcher -- Lakeland Flying Tigers (Florida State League; Class A Advance Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers)
After a rough outing against Charlotte on Saturday, Warner bounced back to earn his second win for the Flying Tigers on Wednesday against Fort Myers. In the win, Warner pitched only two-thirds of an inning and had a strikeout.

Warner's season stats with Class A Advance Lakeland: 5 G, 2-0, 9.53 ERA, 5.2 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 5 BB, 7 K
Corey Bird -- Outfielder -- Batavia Muckdogs (New York-Penn League; Class A Short Season Affiliate of the Miami Marlins)
Bird made four starts in five appearances last week for the Muckdogs. Bird recorded three hits, which came against Williamsport, Tri-City and Aberdeen.
Bird's season stats: 23 G, .204 AVG, 93 AB, 19 H, 13 R, 8 RBI, 6 BB
JD Hammer -- Pitcher -- Grand Junction Rockies (Pioneer League; Rookie Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies)
Hammer continued to lower his ERA for the Rockies. After entering the week with a 4.35 ERA, Hammer pitched two innings with zero earned runs last Friday against Billings to lower it to 3.65. The 6-3 righty tossed one shutout inning at Grand Falls on Monday to improve his ERA to 3.38.

Parker Danciu -- Pitcher -- GCL Braves (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves)
Danciu made his longest relief appearance for the Braves against the GCL Phillies on Monday. The 6-4 lefty went 3.2 innings with three strikeouts. Danciu allowed a run on three hits, but lowered his ERA from 3.27 to 3.07.
Danciu's season stats: 5 G, 1-0, 3.07 ERA, 14.2 IP, 13 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 12 K, 2 SV
Aaron Bossi -- Catcher -- GCL Yankees East (Gulf Coast League; Rookie Affiliate of the New York Yankees)
Bossi found his way at the plate for the Yankees this past week. The St. Louis native went 5-for-6 in the three games, including three hits against the GCL Phillies on Saturday. He improved his batting average from .118 to .304.
