HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's basketball looks to end a three-game skid when it hosts UAB Thursday night at the Cam Henderson Center.

BONUS PLAY
The last four conference games of the season are a mystery as it will be decided upon by where each team finishes in the conference standings. The teams will be broken up into three pods, the top-five teams will be in pod one, 6-10 in pod two and 11-15 in pod three. Each team will play on four of the five dates listed below:

Saturday Feb. 23rd
Thursday Feb. 28th
Sunday Mar. 3rd
Wednesday Mar. 6th
Saturday Mar. 9th

Each team will play two home games and two road games only against teams in its respective pod. Depending upon where each finishes decides where the road games will take place and who each team will host. In terms of conference tournament seeding, no team can be seeded higher or lower than seeding of their pods. So teams in pod two cannot be seeded higher than sixth or lower than 10th.

The Herd can finish anywhere from pod one to pod three going into the last two games. The scenarios to finish fifth and enter pod one or finish sixth and a top pod two are listed below:

ENTER POD ONE AND FINISH FIFTH
Scenario One – The Herd defeats UAB and MTSU and Southern Miss loses to UTSA and UTEP.

Scenario Two –The Herd defeats UAB and MTSU, Southern Miss defeats UTSA and UTEP, Western Kentucky losing to UAB and MTSU and Old Dominion finishes first in the conference standings. Marshall would be tied with WKU in C-USA record and would have split the season series 1-1, but would be awarded the fifth seed based on the win at Old Dominion and WKU's loss.

FINISH SIXTH AND A TOP OF POD TWO
The Herd would finish sixth and a top pod two by defeating UAB and MTSU or beating UAB and it would MTSU, Louisiana Tech and Rice to lose one of its last two games.

If the Herd finished fifth, it would host the top-two teams in the conference and travel to the third and fourth place teams.

Finishing sixth would mean Marshall would host the seventh and eighth seeded teams, while traveling to the ninth and 10th placed teams.

The dates of the games should be announced on Saturday night (Feb. 16) at the conclusion of the day's games, and times and TV are anticipated to be announced Sunday (Feb. 17).
