Pastrana Named to NCBWA All-Preseason Third-Team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall catcher Reynaldo Pastrana was named to National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Preseason Third-Team as announced by the NCBWA on Tuesday.Â
The senior catcher was also named to Conference USA's preseason all-league team last week.

Pastrana was the All-C-USA first-team catcher and a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award last season after he led the Thundering Herd in batting average (.355), home runs (13), hits (71), and RBI (50), while picking off 20 of 37 runners attempting to steal against him. He was also a Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalist.

The Thundering Herd will open its 2019 season in Kissimmee, Florida when it faces Milwaukee, George Mason, Pittsburgh and Iowa.
