Baseball Drops Series Finale at Louisiana Tech

Marshall scored one run on six hits
RUSTON, La. – Marshall baseball (22-17, 9-9 C-USA) fell in seven innings, 11-1, as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs won by run rule in the series finale on Saturday.
Elvis Peralta, Jr., put the Herd on top with a two-out solo home run in the top of the first.
However, the Bulldogs answered after a hit-by-pitch and a walk with two outs as Tanner Huddleston followed it up with a three-run homer as Tech lead 3-1 after the first.
LA Tech scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.
D'Andre Knight came on in relief in the fifth. He gave up one run, but stranded the bases loaded as Marshall trailed 6-1.
Tech ended the game with five runs in the bottom of the seventh to win by run rule.
NOTES
- Robert Kwiatkowski made his first start on the mound.
- Peralta's homer was his team-leading seventh of the season. He has also reached base safely in 18 straight games.
- Tucker Linder reached base for the 24th consecutive game.
- Knight made his team-high 18th appearance of the season.
- Peralta led off the sixth with a bunt single marking 17 multi-hit games for him this season. He's tied with Linder for the team-lead.
UP NEXT
Marshall will face Morehead State on Tuesday at the Kennedy Center.
