Herd in Sixth at C-USA Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Marshall Track and Field finished up day three of the Conference USA Outdoor Championships tied for sixth place—with 21 total team points.
The day saw nine athletes finish in the top ten of their events and four athletes qualify for spots in Sunday's finals.
Ashonti Warner and Christianna Dogan each won their heats in the 400-meter hurdles, guaranteeing spots in the final. Warner clocked a 1:00.84, while Dogan ran a 1:01.41.
Safiyyah Mitchell won the third heat of the 100-meter hurdles preliminary and secured an automatic bid to the final. She ran a time of 14.01. Taylor Robinson finished fourth in the first heat, but recorded a 14.11 time that was the fifth-fastest among all heats. She will join Mitchell in the final. Dogan and Warner finished ninth and 11th, respectively.
The 200-meter dash saw Kayla Haywood finish tenth, and she registered a time of 24.53. Brandy Elysee finished 16th.
In pole vault, Lauren Zaglifa cleared 3.76 meters, which earned her a sixth-place finish. Macie Majoy also finished 10th in the event.
Coming off her first place win in hammer throw on Friday, Reneese Batson threw for a distance of 43.97 meters in discus throw. She finished seventh and teammate Kylie Miles finished 16th.

The final day of the championships begins at 9 a.m. for the Herd. MaryAnn Adebayo, Hasana Clark, and Miles all compete for the outdoor shot put championship.
