Baseball’s Peralta Named to 2019 C-USA All-Tournament Team

Peralta collected six hits in 14 at bats in Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. – Marshall baseball shortstop Elvis Peralta was named to The First 2019 C-USA Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday. The redshirt junior was the only player named to the team that did not make it to Saturday's semifinal round.
Peralta went 6-for-14 for a .429 batting average, had a .529 on-base percentage and put up a slugging percentage of .571 in three games. He struck out just one time in 17 plate appearances.
The shortstop's big day at the tournament was in the Herd's opening contest against Louisiana Tech. He went 4-for-6 with two doubles and a RBI. However, his biggest play wasn't at the plate. In the bottom of the 11th, Peralta made a game-saving, diving stop up the middle to prevent the Bulldogs from scoring the game-winning run as Marshall win in 12 innings in the longest game, 4:49, in C-USA Championship history.
