Evans, Short Receive Academic All-America Honors

Duo lauded
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall saw two of its student-athletes, Alexandra Evans and Abigail Short, named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Cross Country/Track and Field team.

A second team honoree, Evans has earned straight As while majoring in biological science. The Chillicothe, Ohio, product shined for the Thundering Herd at the 2018 C-USA Cross Country Championships, posting a season-best mark of 19:59.6.

Short, who was named to the third team, maintained a perfect GPA throughout her four years with the Thundering Herd. The biological science major, with a pre-med concentration, finished within the top five in five of Marshall's six 2018 cross country meets.

Cassidy Adams of North Texas was also honored.
