HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball head coach Jeff Waggoner released 2019 Fall Baseball Schedule on Thursday. The Herd has two matchups with the West Virginia Mountaineers and an exhibition with the Toronto Mets.

The first game against WVU will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va., with other taking place in Morgantown on Oct. 4 with the same start time. The exhibition against the Mets will be on Oct. 17 at YMCA Kennedy Center on Route 2 with a time that is to be determined.

"It's a great time to be able to see the development of our players as prepare for the 2020 season," Waggoner said about preparing the team for the spring. "It's exciting to be able to play two games against WVU and an exhibition with the Toronto Mets as we get a picture of what our team will look like in the spring."

Last season Marshall finished with a 29-28 record ending the season with an appearance at the 2019 Conference USA Championship in Biloxi, Miss. MU earned a 6-4 victory over third-seeded Louisiana Tech in the opening game of the tournament.

The Herd didn't lose a series at home during the 2019 campaign putting up a 17-7 record at the Kennedy Center and dropping just four home C-USA games, including a series sweep of Rice in the final three games of the regular season.

Marshall also had Joshua Shapiro and Elvis Peralta, Jr., taken in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland A's, respectively. Peralta was named first-team all-conference, while Shapiro was on the second-team.
