HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's soccer (2-7-0, 0-1-0) found the back of the net twice, but fell 3-2 to UTEP (7-2-2, 3-0-0) on Thursday night at Hoops Family Field.
Herd goalkeeper Lindsay Langley made the first save of the contest early in the match in the third minute.
Then in the eighth minute, Marah Abu-Tayeh scored the first goal of the contest on a cross from Rene Ross to put MU up 1-0.

MU struck paydirt again as Julia Schukle scored her first career goal in a Marshall uniform off a rebound from a shot off the boot of Farah Abu-Tayeh to the Herd up 2-1 in the 22nd minute. Marshall led by the same score at the half.
UTEP came out firing in the second half. The Miners scored two goals in the first two minutes after the break, a Marshall own goal and a goal JoJo Ngongo, to go up 3-2.
Marshall's offense put up two shot attempts in the second half as Molly Preston's was the lone one on target as UTEP played tight defense the rest of the way.
