Baseball Ties With WVU

Edwards went 3-for-4 with two RBI
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball begin its fall season in Charleston, W.Va. in a 5-5 tie to the West Virginia Mountaineers on Friday night at Appalachian Power Park.

The Herd struck for three runs in the first and another in the second to jump out to a 4-0 lead.

WVU struck for a pair of runs in the top of the sixth and then struck for three in the eighth to take a 5-4 lead, but MU tied it in the bottom of the ninth.

Sophomore Luke Edwards went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in the contest. Newcomer Jordan Billups also had a pair of hits in the game.

The Herd did not commit error while WVU had two defensive miscues.

Marshall will be back in action on Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in Morgantown for their second fall game against WVU.
