Dogan, Alleyne Set, Break 500-Meter School Record

Day One Results

LEXINGTON, Va.—Christianna Dogan and Mikah Alleyne took aim at the 500-meter school record Friday on the first day of competition at the Keydet Invitational in Lexington, Va.

Alleyne's heat came first and she posted a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:15.39, breaking Dogan's school record of 1:15.81 set last year at Liberty University. Roughly four minutes later, Dogan reclaimed her record with a third-place time of 1:14.56 in the following heat.

Redshirt junior Torie Derrow won the pentathlon with 3,220 points.

In the 4x800m, freshman Astoria Beckett, junior Alyssa Long, freshman Sydney Smith and freshman Julia Muller finished third overall with a time of 9:50.54.

Senior Denisha West placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.88 meters.

Sophomore Macie Majoy finished fourth in the pole vault at 3.75 meters.

The Herd will be back in action for day two on Saturday with the mile run, featuring Abby Herring and Myah McAlister, starting at 10:25 a.m.
