Herd Track and Field Concludes Day Two at Keydet Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va.— Marshall University's track and field team finished up its trip to VMI at the 2020 Keydet Invitational.

Senior Safiyyah Mitchell took first place in the 60-meter hurdles final. Junior Taylor Robinson followed and placed fifth and senior Hannah Carreon finished sixth overall.

In the 4x400 meter relay, junior Talor Bennett, junior Brandy Elysee, freshman Jamaicia James and senior Danere'a White took third place overall.

In the 400 meters, Brandy Elysee placed fifth and Danere'a White tailed and finished seventh overall in the event.

Jamaicia James concluded action in the 200-meter event and placed fifth.

"We had some great performances this weekend all across the board," Marshall track and field Jeff Small said. "Coming away with a school record in the 500m was one of my highlights because it was broken twice in the span of 4 minutes. This was a great meet to move our team forward and we are looking at having a great meet back at home next week at the Thundering Herd Invitational."
