HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall track and field will host the sixth annual Thundering Herd Invitational at the Jeff Small Track at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex. The meet officially gets underway Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for youth (12 and under), and $2 for those in groups of 10 or more. Marshall students receive free entrance with a valid student ID.
Marshall will be joined by 10 other schools competing this weekend, including one Conference USA opponent: Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Ohio, UNC Asheville, Western Kentucky, Winthrop, and Wright State.
Competing unattached will be Manteo Mitchell, 2012 Olympic Silver medalist in the 4x400 and 2012 World Championships Gold medalist in the 4x400, in the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes on Saturday.
Marshall has finished second place in each of the past two seasons at the Thundering Herd Invitational. In the 2019-20 season, the Thundering Herd won the Marshall Opener, and tied for first in the Marshall Women's Classic.
