HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall (5-2) women's tennis is set for its last road weekend before several home matches, the first match of the weekend is against Yale (4-2). First serve is set for 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb 14 in New Haven, Conn.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Sophomore Liz Stefancic pulled off the last singles win to lift the Herd over Middle Tennessee last weekend, 4-3.
Aside from Stefancic's win, Anna Smith (6-2, 2-6, 6-2) and Madi Ballow (7-6, 6-2) also collected singles wins.
On the doubles side, Smith and Daniela Dankanych defeated Lee Bernard and Zani Barnard, (6-2) and Madison Riley and Jutte Van Hansewyck defeated Noelle Mauro and Muskan Gupta, (6-3).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: YALE
Yale competed in the ECAC Indoor Championship in New York, New York last weekend where the team defeated University of Massachusetts (4-0) and University of Pennsylvania (4-1) but dropped a match to Columbia University (3-4).
Freshman Chelsea Kung and freshman Rena Lin did not drop a singles or doubles match during the tournament. Sophomore Jessie Gong and Junior Samantha Martinelli went undefeated in the doubles rounds of the tournament.
SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the series 3-0 against Yale. The last time these two teams met was in 2016 when Marshall defeated Yale 4-3.
UP NEXT
The team continues traveling this weekend to New York, N.Y. to battle Fordham on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m.
