INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Marshall women's golf team completed the first day of the Butler Fall Invitational on Monday, played at the Highland Country Club.
The Thundering Herd is in eighth place after the first two rounds. The third and final round tees off Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Senior Jackie Schmidt and graduate student Stormy Randazzo lead the Herd and as both are tied for 20th. Schmidt scored a 75 in both rounds, but with staying steady in the second round, Schmidt moved up seven places on the leaderboard. She also scored two birdies in the first round. Randazzo started off well with a 1-over 71 in the first round, recording three birdies.
Senior Torren Kalaskey moved up one spot in the second round and is tied for 26th.
Butler leads its home event with an overall team score of plus-24, 584. The Bulldogs have a three-stroke lead over Austin Peay and Belmont. Erica Scutt of Austin Peay is the leader after the first two rounds. She has a one-stroke lead over Cameron Fish of Belmont and Ally Ross of Butler. Scutt finished the two rounds with a 1-over, 140.
