FINAL RESULTS
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's MaryAnn Adebayo and Mikah Alleyne set Marshall Opener records as the Thundering Herd downed Morehead State 168-48 on Thursday evening at the Jeff Small Track inside the Chris Cline Indoor Athletics Complex.
The Thundering Herd won all 11 events on the schedule.
Adebayo posted a winning distance of 18.81 meters in the weight throw, equaling the previous mark set by Gaza Odunaiya of Ohio on January 12, 2019.
Alleyne breezed to victory in the 200 meters in 24.62 seconds, 17 one-hundredths better than the time of Duquesne's Bethany Evankovich, which was also set during that aforementioned meet.
Raegan Hefner won the 60 meters in 8.07 seconds, while Janea Gardner found victory in the 300 meters with a time of 40.31 seconds.
Jillian King won the 400 meters in 58.59 seconds and Ashonti Warner took the 600 meter victory in 1:34.01.
Warner also came out the victor in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.54 seconds.
King was the winner in the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters, while Diana Goodman won the pole vault with a height of 3.80 meters.
Maria Parra captured the long jump with a distance of 5.47 meters and Rebecca Merritt notched a victory in the shot put with a mark of 13.28 meters.
"I was really pleased with everyone," said Marshall head track and field coach Jeff Small. "We had two meet records.
"This time last year, we were shut down (due to COVID-19), so if we can just put together a great training over the break, I think we'll be set up for a fantastic season."
The Thundering Herd will be back in action at the Marshall Classic on Saturday, January 15.
