Marshall Baseball Adds Ladendorf as Assistant Coach
3/9/2021 11:20:00 AM | Baseball
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball head coach Jeff Waggoner announced the addition of Tyler Ladendorf as an assistant coach on Tuesday.
"I'm excited to add Tyler to our staff," Waggoner said. "He brings Major League Baseball experience to our program and I can't wait to have him work with our guys."Â
Â
Ladendorf was drafted 60th overall in the second round of the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Minnesota Twins out of Howard Junior College. He then spent the next 11 years playing in the MiLB and MLB making his MLB debut on Apr. 8, 2015, with the Oakland Athletics. He played in over 850 games between his time in the minors and the majors, compiling 735 hits and 319 RBI.Â
Â
"I'm super excited to come on the staff this late in the season," Ladendorf said. "I'm hoping to bring a chill vibe to the guys. I'm not trying to come in and impose my will in any way, shape or form. I'm trying to be there as a shoulder to lean on if they have questions. I was fortunate to get to the highest level in this game and I had to work hard to get there. I want to be here to see young guys getting after it every day and I want to pass on what I've learned."
