SPRINGBORO, Ohio – The Marshall men's golf team has completed the first two rounds of the Wright State Invitational on Sunday at the Heatherwoode Golf Club.
The Thundering Herd is in eighth place. Round three tees off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
"We did a lot of good things today," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "This was the first time we have competed on this course, so we hopefully we learned a little today and will play better tomorrow."
Redshirt senior Matt Hoffman dropped his score by four strokes in the second round and jumped up 24 places on the leaderboard. Hoffman leads the Herd and is tied for 22nd. Redshirt senior Will Straub and senior Noah Mullens are both in the top 30. Senior Brad Plaziak improved his score by six strokes and moved up 12 places on the leaderboard.
Wright State leads the event with a 15-stroke lead over Ohio. Austin Schoonmaker leads the field with a two stroke lead over his teammate Tyler Goecke.
