Herd Women’s Soccer Heads to Lexington for Matchup with Kentucky

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University women's soccer team (0-1-0) travels to Lexington, Ky., for its first road contest of the season on as it takes on the Kentucky Wildcats (0-0-1) on Sunday. First kick is scheduled for 5 p.m.

HAVE YOU HEARD
Marshall fell in a narrow 2-1 decision to Wright State in double overtime on Thursday at Hoops Family Field.
Senior defender Tesia Schray tallied the Herd's goal to tie the game in the 76th minute off a corner kick by freshman midfielder Courtney Corcoran.
Schray and Corcoran along with freshman forward Meg Jarvis and sophomore midfielder Abi Hugh each had a pair of shots on target.
Junior goalkeeper Courtney McVicker saved seven of the Raiders nine attempts on target.
Freshmen defenders Ava Hall, Kennedy Gunter and Olivia Delikat along with freshman midfielder Cassidy Bell played in all 103 minutes in the match.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
The Wildcats opened up the fall with a 1-1 draw at Purdue on Thursday night after finishing the 2020-21 season with a 1-6-3 record.
Hannah Richardson scored UK's goal on an assist by Jordyn Rhodes. Rhodes led the team with 11 goals and 23 points last season as Richardson tallied a pair of goals in the campaign.
Kentucky returned 21 letterwinners and added 11 newcomers to its roster this fall.
