Women’s Soccer Set to Begin C-USA Action against WKU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Coming off a 3-0 win over VMI on Sunday, the Marshall University women's soccer team (3-4-1) is set to play host to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (5-1-0) on Thursday night at Hoops Family Field at 6 p.m.

HAVE YOU HEARD
The Herd recorded its second shutout of the season on Sunday in a 3-0 win over the VMI Keydets.
Freshman forward Meg Jarvis collected the first goal of the game by chipping the goalkeeper in the 29th minute on a pass from senior forward Kat Gonzalez.
Jarvis struck again with a brace from outside the 18-yard box at the 42:50 mark to put MU up 2-0.
Gonzalez then tallied the final goal of the contest as she buried a shot into the right corner of the goal on a pass from midfielder Cassidy Bell.
Freshman goalkeeper Mira Pastoft made two saves en route to the clean sheet.
Gonzalez and Jarvis are tied for the team lead in goals this season with three each while Gonzalez leads the Herd with 12 points, 23 shots and 20 shots on target.
Bell and Gonzalez joined junior forward Morgan White, sophomore midfielder Abi Hugh and freshman midfielder Courtney Corcoran with assists this season.
Pastoft has accumulated a 3-1-1 record this season, making 11 saves and has a 0.98 goals against average.
SCOUTING WKU
The Hilltoppers are 5-1-0 this season falling in their last contest at home to (RV) Ole Miss 1-0, the first time they've trailed and was just the third goal they've given up this season.
Katie Erwin, Avery Jacobsen and Brina Micheels have each scored a pair of goals this season with Erwin leading WKU with three assists, 13 shots and nine shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Alexis Bach has started in five of the team's six contests, posting three shutouts, making 19 saves, posting a 0.59 goals against average and a .864 save percentage.
